ONA VILLIER STUDIO is a high-end interior design firm. We cater to residential clients all over the Chicagoland and North Shore areas — and beyond. Our aim is to create a design that truly represents our diverse clients, while remaining true to our core aesthetic. We specialize in juxtaposing minimalism with European vintage, mixing luxurious and rustic finishes. We like to call our style Rough Luxe.
Ona Villier’s design is driven by a desire to tell a unique story. Over the course of her 20-year career, the Spanish-born and Chicago-based designer has evolved into an interdisciplinary professional, creating idiosyncratic interiors that thoughtfully weave together her international background and her passion for art, travel, architecture and fashion.
A B O U T
ONA VILLIER was born and raised on the Mediterranean island of Menorca (Spain), and moved to New York City when she was fourteen years old. Ona received her academic training in interior, architectural and graphic design. After attending university, she pursued a career in fashion advertising in Manhattan, where she spent three years working at Lipman Advertising. While there, she came into contact with the likes of Peter Lindbergh, Kate Moss and David Yurman, before deciding to move back to her favorite city, Barcelona. She attained her Postgraduate degree in Architecture and Design from ELISAVA at Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
While in Barcelona, she co-founded BINICHIC and ONA VILLIER, two luxury handbag brands inspired by the Mediterranean, mixing rustic and luxurious elements to create a rough-luxe aesthetic inspired by her Mediterranean upbringing.
When her husband -- a native Tuscan whom she met in Barcelona -- was hired as a professor at a prominent University in Chicago, they made the move to the city.
As the principal of ONA VILLIER STUDIO, each project is tailored to her clients, infusing them with her fresh and original point of view. She currently lives in Wilmette with her husband and their two young children, going back to visit Italy and Spain as often as they can.
